Laurie James Cope (b. 1998) is an artist and Computer Animation graduate from the University of South Wales. He has worked commercially at post-production visual effect studios, on episodic & film projects for companies such as; Disney, Netflix and Amazon.
Tipping Point
Laurie is a London-based artist, who's work explores story-telling, people and catastrophe. He practice; oil-paintings, inks, moving-image, CGI and pastels. Through writing fiction he established a feudal-futuristic setting for his projects.Over the past seven years he produced an anthology of stories, through image and word, about blessings and catastrophe. Each year he produced a sketchbook, developed paintings and furthered my research. These six books were dismantled and traditionally rebound by his partner.The drawings are created by measured landmarks, deciding the functions of the forms and curating this relationship to the experience of the viewer that perceives the scene. The collection of work stands today as seven books & seven paintings.
